Philosophy & Staff

Philosophy
A small child’s curiosity is without boundaries.
At Canadian Island we believe it is essential to encourage their sense of wonder about the world around them.
We are committed to developing a child’s self-esteem through cooperative play. In a safe and nurturing environment, the children at Canadian Island not only learn English but so many other important skills.
Our rich and encouraging hands-on program encompasses important aspects of emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth.

  Staff
A caring and supportive teacher is one of the most important factors in a day care setting.
Our training and on-going guidance for our staff reflects this belief.
We teach the skills of listening, observing and encouraging the children in order to create an environment where the toddlers feel comfortable enough to try new things.
The creative skills of the children are discovered and developed with the help of our team of professional caregivers.
The teachers at Canadian Island Kindergarten have their Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have extensive experience working with children and creating a safe, child-centered environment in which a child can grow and learn.
The child-teacher ratio at Canadian Island is 9:1, which allows for a truly nurturing atmosphere and a firm trust to be established between the teachers and the children.
